Good evening. Ben got out and groomed lower Iditarod trail plus Beaver Pond out to the halfway point and back. Bikepath is also worth a brief ski or stroll. The trails are in good shape. Stay tuned, more to come!...
Groomers got out this morning at 1st light. About 8" of snow overnight made the going a bit slow. End result was a nice surface on the above mentioned trails. Groomers went up and back on the upper meadow loop but due to a water hazard half way up, lost momentum and did minimal grooming in that area. We hope to get tracks done over the next few days and shovel in a few of the whoopdees. Get out there and enjoy it. Join Girdwood Nordic Ski Club and support your world class trails. We are getting over our Temperature change and trails are softening up with a little new snow.Jim groomed Moose Meadow thru the 5K loop and Arlberg Pathway.Tracks were set on the 5K. Other trails have to smooth and soften before we will be able to set tracks. Stay tuned for info. pz ...

John went out and tried to comb all the trails that were rolled yesterday; they are now super solid and bumpy in places, but holding up to skis and sleds and wide sliding or rolling items. Not for walking....
5K was rolled out. Wet surface snow had varied results as it started to freeze up. Expect glaze hills, and inconsistent ski surface.All other trails groomed with similar varied results. Good evening! The snowdog got out for a bit today: The bike path from DOT yard out to the first bathrooms got a groom, Lower Iditarod trail saw sled packing. May groom tomorrow, 11/27. Beaver Pond was sled packed as well. And just for good measure, the 5k just finished a groom. The 5k is back in play! After many passes and generous community support, the loop is back in skiing business.
