Groomers were out today and widened trails between Church and 5K  parking Lot. Also got a groom and tracks on 5 K.  Upper Meadow loop widened. A partial groom was done from Soccer Field through lower Moose Meadow. Groomers will be out again soon to get the whole Moose Meadow Loop widened as well. We still need more snow cover to really smooth trails. There are some thin, wet spots in all the meadows so ski with caution and look for hazards. Around the church there are some rough spots and vegetation narrowing the trail. We have a great start on getting all of the traditionally groomed trails up and skiable. The 5K Nordic Loop was groomed this morning.  Classic track was set.  It's cold out there, but the skiing is very good.  Peter is out now, grooming the Upper Meadows.  That makes for more skiing options!  Have a great day out there....

After many rounds on 5 K for compaction, groomers put a smooth finish on it before wrapping up today. Surface is still soft and classic skis are still recommended. Tim came out to put in both Upper Valley Loop and the connector to the church in with a snowmobile track groom. We will continue to work towards getting all valley trails packed in as conditions allow. Winter has finally come ! Get out and enjoy it .pz...

Too much snow this AM but Tim went out this afternoon with his personal machine. Eric from Alyeska showed up with an aly machine and helped out too. We now have a soft tracked surface suitable for classic skiing. A little too powdery for skate skiing as of now. We will be working hard towards firming up the 5 K, and moving towards other trails as time allows. Probably Upper Meadow loop is most likely to be next on our list. Thanks to all the folks involved today getting our great powder snow firmed up and heading back to being a ski trail. Shane, Tim and Eric!  Happy new year!  ...

Warm, wet weather has brought a temporary halt to grooming operations, but we've groomed the 5K Nordic Loop several times in the last few days.  The trail is VERY MUSHY today.  Skiing may damage the surface, so please avoid the trail until it firms up.  Also, since we are into the Winter grooming season, dogs, snowshoes, bikes and walking on the SKI ONLY 5K trail are not permitted....

Yesterday and last night's snowfall made it possible to open the whole loop of the 5 K trail. It skied nicely today,  however is a bit thin in spots. More snow in the forecast! Currently Moose Meadow and connecting trails to upper valley loop are still short  of snow to groom without harming underlying  vegetation. We will be looking at expanding our trails as snowfall allows. Get out there and enjoy WINTER! pz  ...

Winter Grooming has begun! Thanks to Eric from Alyeska Resort for coming out and using their tracked  side by side wheeler to pull the club's roller around the entire 5 K loop! Conditions are about 2" of packed powder. We now are switching back to our winter ski only status for the trail. Bring your rock skis and leave your dog at home please. We recommend classic skis at this point to help consolidate our thin snowpack. We still need much more snow but this is a wonderful start. pz  ...

Once grooming starts 5K will go back to ski only. For now enjoy it however you choose! There is less than 3 " on the trail now. Perhaps the one skier yesterday might agree its still too early to ski the 5 K. We hope to see some Christmas snows which will put us back into Groom mode. Stay tuned and please obey signs once they go up. Merry Christmas and a snow filled New Year.  pz...

Currently @ 5 inches of soft snow. Some have skied but report scratching rocks on downhill pitches. Still not enough snow to groom w/o turning up rocks. The 5 k will remain multi use until we get enough snow to groom. Stay tuned. Happy Winter !                    ...

Today with 8" new on the ground groomers just had to roll it all out. Still soft and thin in many parts of trail. Ski with caution , and enjoy the bitter end of the season. pz...

Due to the lack of snow connecting trails in the valley, the 2019 Alyeska Skimeister scheduled April 20th will be cancelled.  There is great crust skiing up north and elevation.  Enjoy the last days of skiing, and we will see you next year!  Happy Spring!!...

Touched up all of 5 K loop. Bare spots are starting to show. Ski with caution and enjoy the last of the season. Due to afternoon warmth grooms don't last to long before softening.  Have fun while you can. pz...

Snow is dirty but skiable. use caution especially  on corkscrew hill. Some ice patches but trail is covered well. We are still grooming and expect to have several events before the trail is unskiable. Please continue to respect the SKI ONLY status of this trail. When snow is gone it will be multi use again . Thanks, GNSC  Groomers.pz...

John groomed the 5K Nordic Loop this afternoon.  There is still quite a bit of snow on the trail, but with these temperatures it won't last long.  Get out and enjoy a fun Spring ski.  If it freezes over night, the trail will be icy in the morning.  Enjoy Spring!...

The 5K Nordic Loop is holding up well despite all of the rain.  With all of the grooming this winter - starting on October 30th, the snow on the trail has been well compacted.  We should be skiing the trail into April.  The Upper Meadows are quite skiable, but we haven't groomed up there in a few days.  The Moose Meadow is very wet and we don't anticipate grooming to resume there until we get a good freeze....

Gallup went out on 5K and Upper Meadow loop and spruced it up. Also John took a single loop around Moose Meadow but had to pull off when runoff water was encountered. As soon as water drains or freezes we can safely groom Moose Meadow. Stay tuned and be safe out there. pz...
