Plenty of new snow in Girdwood.  Choose your venue - 5K Nordic Loop, Meadows, Alyeska Resort, or plenty of back country.  The 5K Nordic Loop was groomed today - fresh corduroy, but no new tracks.  Deb will be grooming the Arlberg bike trail tonight.  Enjoy Winter!...

Lots of new snow.  Shane groomed it this morning, but there are no new classic tracks.  Looks like Deb will go out this evening for a tune up groom after the new snow that has fallen today.  Should be fantastic skiing.  Take advantage of this great snow, and grooming...

After more than a foot of snow over the last few days, Jim and Peter groomed around 6 hours between them today to get a pretty nice groom. Some alder on Corkscrew area and overall snow is soft but quite skiable. As always, ski with caution and have fun!  Welcome back to winter! Other trails still need to drain last weeks water and gain another 2 feet of snow. Stay tuned....

The 5K Nordic Loop is being groomed today.  Close to a foot of snow!  No classic tracks will be set in this groom, but the classic skiing should be excellent anyway.  The Arlberg Avenue bike trail is also being groomed.  Enjoy!...

Groomers were out last night for a track pack on the 5K . Our grooming season has begun. As of today, winter rules apply: We now are in Ski Only Mode! So please leave your bikes and dogs at home and bring your skis!...

As soon as we get enough snow to ski,  our trusty groomers will be out making your trails smooth. We are back to gravel on the 5K loop.   We are still in our multi- use trail mode but as soon as we receive groomable snow we are back to the ski- only status. Thanks for your support. " Winter Happens. " Please join us at the Girdwood School Bazaar today ( Saturday, 8  Dec. Noon to 6PM ) to support ski trails in Girdwood. Pick up your annual membership and some great presents and stocking stuffers from Girdwood artists and crafts- folks. Coming soon: GNSC Solstice Ski and Celebration, December 21 st  at 7:00 PM...

After about an 8 inch accumulation of snow and some cool temperatures overnight, the 5K Nordic Loop was rolled today.  Most folks venturing out on the trail are using touring skis - good idea, because there are still a lot of rocks.  As always, use caution on the downhills.  Dogs are ok until our next "groom" - probably Friday.  Have fun out there!...

All trails except 5K are melted out and no longer skiable. 5K is still covered and skiable but grooming is unlikely. Bare spots exist so ski with caution on all parts of the trail. At one time we had as much as 2 1/2 feet on our snow stakes and now we are melted down to @ 6-8 inches.. It was great while it lasted but it is going fast. Thanks for your support. Thanks to all our volunteer Groomers and supporting members....

Hard snow out there but all trails scuffed up and smoothed out a bit. Moose meadow has some shallow tracks which may hold up awhile. Melt freeze cycle makes ski conditions variable as you go from sun to shaded areas. Enjoy our warm sunshine while it lasts....

Yesterday Kyle got out to groom new snow on the trails. Last Night the full 5k  Loop was packed and a team is planning to be out this morning to give it all a once over for your skiing enjoyment. Today there will be a Kids event on the 1K portion of the 5K loop. If you are out there come see the kids and cheer them on....

Deb used the BIG drag to smooth out and put a nice skiing surface on the Moose Meadow, Upper Meadows and the 5K Nordic Loop.  Enjoy the Spring skiing....

The 5K Nordic Loop was groomed with set classic track this morning.  It is snowing consistently and is accumulating fast.  Enjoy Spring break....
