Goodmorning Girdwood Valley. It's 21* and the trails must be crust! Perimeter trails were groomed last evening and the meadows received a combover. The trails are receiving a nice treatment: ice crispy rest, sun soaked, skied and walked with care, brushed and combed, repeat. Thank you for picking up after your pets! Groomers were out in force tonight to reclaim our trail system. All trails got packed and smoothed. Our mystery groomer even took a crack at Winner Cr loop. 6" or 7 " new snow was knocked down and smoothed but the surface is SOFT. We will be back for more grooms over the next few days to firm up our trail base. Just when we were thinking spring, old man winter taps you on the shoulder and reminds you where you are...

Registration is open!  Alyeska Hill Climb Saturday April 15th https://www.crosscountryalaska.org/alyeskahillclimb Event is limited to 50 Female and 50 Male for long course and 20 Female/20 Males for Short course. $30 for long course, $20 for short course Short course starts at base of tram to mid hill. Open to USSS U16 and U14 ages. Long course begins at the base of tram and climbs to the top of tram. Open to USSS 16+ Maps will be posted in early April....

Winner Creek Trail has been reset with a base best suitable for classic skiing! Report is that soft snow along the trail will temper enthusiasm.
