Help our native plants this month. Meet at the 5K parking lot and pull invasive weeds! After a great vetch pull in and around Town Square Park, Girdwood Parks & Rec is organizing another mission. Come from 1-3pm Thurs August 6. Meet at the 5K Parking lot for instructions. Bags will be provided, and disposed of. Thank you for considering and bring or tell a friend!...

The 5K is firm and down to the dirt! Enjoy walks, strolls, pedal biking and running here in the valley and on the 5K loop. Take care of your trails! Registration is OPEN for the 2026 Alaska Run for Women! There will be a virtual course right here in Girdwood on Thursday, June 4, at 5:30 pm. 1mi and 5mi loops. All are welcome - meet at the Magic Carpet ready to walk, jog, run and stroll @ 5:30p without driving the highway. Whether you can make it or not, join Girdwood's team! It's spring season, even if it doesn't quite feel like it. Please be mindful of trail surface and let the trail dry and harden while rapid melting occurs. Summer fun awaits when the trail is ready. Enjoy Bird to Gird and Alyeska Bikepaths meanwhile, plus Lower Iditarod is in great shape! Thank you for your support this year!...

The 5K and Arlberg bikepath was smoothed tonight! APU will be training on the course tomorrow. GNSC is proud to support APU skiers! There are a few wet spots and the weather is lifting a bit this weekend. Spring skiing is right here - enjoy while it lasts!...

The 5K is SKIING alright! The snow is soft for skating and accumulating more needles and debris, but if you like spring skiing, go get it! Only a few icy sections and wet segments at base of some hills. Best skiing is on middle and upper loop; use caution on the 2K downhills. DO NOT WALK on the trail. Walking is great on Alyeska and Arlberg bike path from Forest Service to the Alyeska Hotel, and all streets in Girdwood. Winner Creek is also for multi use....
