Your volunteer groomers were out early this morning, and will keep working to get the 5K in skiing shape. Currently 1K loop and bike path have been groomed . Other areas are still lacking enough snow for machine grooming but folks are out there cutting their favorite trails. Go out and explore....
Deb groomed out the new snow this morning. Still very thin cover with some rock hits likely but improving every day. Snow surface is firming up with grooming and compaction. Stay tuned and ski it up!...
Another 4-5" new by 10:30 am added enough snow for a roller groom. It is still thin cover but improved from yesterday. Exercise caution on hills. Have fun and support your local ski club. Go Ski !...
I skied the 5K loop today on @4' new snow. Mostly ice trailbed but portions are a rock base. Currently not enough snow to pack but snow is the forecast. The new snow skied pretty well with a few rock hits. the 1 and 4K loops are skiable but VERY THIN. Currently I would recommend classic skis to pack what little snow we do have down rather than lunge into it with every skate stroke. Also skiing Corkscrew Hill should be undertaken by only the boldest of advanced skiers. Any edging pushes snow aside and leaves glare ice. We hope to pack as soon as we get enough snow. Don't give up and do your snow dance. Have fun and be safe. Peter Z...
We still need lots of snow. Rock skis still advised. Too thin snow cover to groom. Conditions are holding up. Enjoy the trail and support GNSC....
Tim track packed the 5K Nordic Loop today. Skiers liked it....
1/2/18 PM Please use caution on first loop. ( 1 K loop) return trail is showing rocks and is only for Bold skiers who are OK with rough and rocky trails. the upper loops are also showing rocks but are slightly more skiable. Snow is currently soft and non- skiers have caused bare spots with their human and dog prints. Until snow is gone the 5 K remains a ski only trail. Do your snow dance, Happy New Year....
