The trails are ready for your gliding skis and staggered celebration. Join GNSC in spirit and in person around the shortest day of the year. The 1.6 K loop will be beautifully lit tonight, December 21st from 5-9 PM. Come ski the loop alone or with friends. To keep the congregating to a minimum we will not have a fire pit or refreshments, but encourage everyone to come ski at their own pace and see the lights on the shortest day of the year. Shane went out and got in a groom. It turned out soft but he was able to get some tracks in around the 5K. Shovelers worked yesterday from Horror Hill through Crockets bridge paving the way for the next snow impulse. Moose meadow is still draining water and we will get to it as soon as it is possible. Jim is going out this morning @ 8 AM for a 5 K groom. We are VERY close to getting all trails open. Stay tuned! We are about to get the OK from the Municipality to start grooming all trails. This morning the grooming crew spiffed up the 5K , Arlberg multiuse path and ran up valley through the Upper Valley Loop Trail. (Still a little rough - just need another foot or so!) Forecast calls for snow changing overnight to rain and a warm and wet Tuesday. If you are on a trail and see your feet, or bike are damaging the surface please consider an alternate route. Your trusty and hardy groomers were out again this morning. Our Chief Trail Conditions advisor said it skied GREAT ! Yesterday we took a few rounds to the upper meadow loop with our new Sno Dog groomer. Check it out and look for more news on our narrow guage multi- use trail groomer. Snow right around the freezing mark is likely to glaze up as the day progresses so get it while its still on the soft end of the spectrum.
