It's crusty out there when the temperature is right! Lots of grooming took place today, from Winner Creek to Beaver Pond, and the Perimeter trails, all the meadows, and the 5K. The results look great and temperatures are predicted to dip down below freezing tonight. Make the most of the weather and windows. Thank you volunteers!...

Goodmorning Girdwood Valley. It's 21* and the trails must be crust! Perimeter trails were groomed last evening and the meadows received a combover. The trails are receiving a nice treatment: ice crispy rest, sun soaked, skied and walked with care, brushed and combed, repeat. Thank you for picking up after your pets! Get in the spring skiing this week!...

Groomers were out this morning and reported they improved the trails slightly. Tracks were set on the 5K and the perimeter trails were also groomed. Thank you volunteers! Our machines are getting their miles this year and so are the skiers right?! Saturday is the Alyeska Hill Climb!...

Tracks were set everywhere last night and they are completely covered - the snow was falling all morning. Temps are hovering in that freezing range and climbing. Today is a first tracks day! Thank you volunteers....

Groomers were out in force tonight to reclaim our trail system. All trails got packed and smoothed. Our mystery groomer even took a crack at Winner Cr loop. 6" or 7 " new snow was knocked down and smoothed but the surface is SOFT. We will be back for more grooms over the next few days to firm up our trail base. Just when we were thinking spring, old man winter taps you on the shoulder and reminds you where you are...

Winner Creek Trail has been reset with a base best suitable for classic skiing! Report is that soft snow along the trail will temper enthusiasm. As increased users and trail hardening occurs, multi-use will be the mode.  All trails were groomed last night. What a way to start the week! Thank you for supporting GNSC and our fabulous groomers...
