This afternoon Jeff began packing today's heavy snow, completing laps on the 5k. Our Snowdog was out on the Viewscape loop this evening. We'll see if we can find the trails tomorrow. Eben touched up all of the Nordic skiing trails with a groom this evening. The 5k and Moose Meadows have classic tracks set and all trails have fresh corduroy laid down. Please pick up after your dogs. Trash cans and poop bags are located at most trailheads. Your fellow trail users and volunteer groomers especially appreciate this! After some new snow in the past couple of days, groomers were out this morning putting the trails in shape. Warm temperatures and several inches of new snow arrived last night. The 5K Nordic Loop has been groomed and new classic track has been laid down. Chugach Powder Guides' snowcat went out the cat track early this morning, and groomed it. All other trails in Girdwood have NOT been groomed. There should be some fun skiing out there today....

Take a circumnavigation tour around the Moose Meadow and see a side of Girdwood most have never seen! Our narrow gage groomer is making a nice path to follow for all users. You may have to step aside for other users out on the trail but you will mostly have the trail to yourself. Thanks to the chief Snow Dog operator!! All other lower valley trails have also been gone over. If you like this kind of groomed snow trail please attend the next Girdwood Trails Committee and ask for more. pz...
