Kind of wet out on the 5 K this morning. By 8AM the skate lanes were refreshed, and snow was falling. Tracks on the 5K are still a pretty nice ride. As conditions allow with cooling temps we will get out and groom the whole park. pz...

Jim was out raking Moose Meadow, connectors, and Upper Meadows today. Surface is holding up for skiing and riding. Deep footprints from the melt week are still discernible in places, but our groomers are doing their best to create a skiable surface. Enjoy the sun and do your snow dance!...
Finally, we could groom again! After several consecutive days of warm weather and liquid precipitation, the trails are firming up with some freezing temps followed by fresh snow this morning. The 5k is groomed with tracks set tonight! Perimeter ViewScape narrow gauged groomed plus connectors to the meadows. Keep skiing on the trails to avoid post-holing and pick up the poop.....
Moose Meadow received lots of grinding today by our groomers, and a bucket full of dog poop was scooped. Tonight the 5k was ground as well for a more skiable tomorrow. Incase you missed the previous posts, PVT, lower Iditarod, and the bikepath has been narrow gauge groomed. Lower Iditarod's surface is ideal for multi-use and all other trail surfaces are mixed. Mother Nature is making trail beautification difficult, but tomorrow morning the groomers will try to calm the surface of the 5k again. Stay tuned. Please use skis to travel on the meadows, or snowshoes. And pick up your dog's poop. Perimeter Viewscape Trail around Moose Meadow is a great ski! Challenging road conditions exist today due to freezing rain, followed by rain. Give road crews time to work and stay off the 5k until the numerous snow bombs have been addressed. It's a great day for indoor training and gratitude! Classic and fish scale skiing on Moose Meadow is doable, just sinking with narrow skis. The trails are groomed by tonight with tracks set on Moose Meadow and the 5k. Please snowbike on all the multi-use trails: Arlberg/Alyeska Bikepath, Bird-Gird Bikepath, Beaver Pond, Iditarod NHT, Winner Creek Trail, Moose Meadow and Upper Meadows. The 5K is the only place in Girdwood that is Nordic SKI ONLY. Thank you groomers!...
