Trail Report

  • Since November, this Can-Do Crew has been maintaining the Girdwood winter trails. Over 400 hours of grooming…and much more in chainsaw action and maintenance. Today, we packed everything away. Not everyone is included the photo, but groomers usually work behind the scenes anyway. Huge THANK YOU to The Bake Shop (feeding us), Kyle (fuel and maintenance), CPG groomers, Alyeska Resort groomers, and Justin Siemens for helping with the deep snow. See you all in the fall. Please respect the trails and winter-only areas as they go through their spring cycle. Bike, hike, walk where appropriate as the snow melts! GNSC will post when trails are firm for non-ski recreation....

  • That’s a wrap! Stoked to have APU Nordic Ski Team training on the 5K today. Thank you to all who helped make our season a success! Members, donors, groomers, and board members… Mother Nature: You made it awesome...

  • The 5K loop remains SKI ONLY and was groomed today. GNSC is finished grooming the meadows! Please transition to upland trails for the spring and summer to protect the Class A Wetlands. Also carry your own dog poop bags if you are dog-walking… since the meadow bag dispensers will no longer be stocked. Meadow trash cans are also not serviced so take the bags to the nearest trash can. Thank you for keeping the environment more clean! What a great season....

  • The 5K is groomed! Thank you to our fantastic groomers. Enjoy the skiing wherever you do it...

  • Both trails turned out OK. Deb used the Big Ginzu on 5K and Peter used the Little Ginzu around Moose Meadow. This springtime groom was brought to you by the recent cold overnight temperatures we have experienced. So, depending on temps we will attempt to groom when we can. Due to wetlands issues moose meadow will be the first to be stopped. Off trail on Moose Meadow was firm this morning but could potentially break through sometime soon forcing ceasing grooming there. It’s been a great season. Thanks all from Peter, Jim, Deb and the Groomers...
