Community XC Ski Jan 22

What: Join Girdwood Brewing Co. and Girdwood Nordic for a free family friendly event (not a kid drop-off). All levels are welcome. Go classic or skate, and leave your pups at home. While no actual coaching or teaching will be given, light pointers and advice will be to those looking for some. After skiing, meet at GBC for refreshments and community building. Cheers! When: Wed Jan 22nd @ 6pm. Be back to pkg lot by 7:30 at latest. Last call @ GBC is 7:59! Where: 5k parking lot at Arlberg Gear: GYOG (bring your own gear). Dress for the cold.  Wear a headlamp!

Girdwood Marathon 2020

October 3rd at 9am Meet at the Alyeska Daylodge. Gird your loins, it's time for the Girdwood Marathon!! This is probably the only good news of 2020 so savor it. Choose the full 26.2 mile marathon or 13.1 mile half-marathon. The race starts and ends in the idyllic, forested village of Girdwood. The course takes you through town, along the Bird to Gird trail, into the mountains rich with autumn colors, and views of snow-dusted peaks. It's probably going to rain or hail or both since it's Girdwood, after all. Aid stations? No. This is a BYOBS race (Bring Your Own Bear Spray), along with water and a smile.   We will start the race in waves (COVID) and with waves. Covid says, "Race is limited to a maximum of 30 racers for the Marathon, maximum of 30 for the half." Thank you! SIGN UP HERE

When the days are short and nights are long, a best place to be is among beautiful big spruce, twinkling lights, gliding along on your skis. Join Nordic enthusiasts on the 5K loop, complete the 1k or more with your headlamp and enjoy being outdoors, safely a ski-length away from friends and community! There's plenty of space to kindly spread out and celebrate our Winter Solstice. Solstice ski when the time is most comfortable for you. We look forward to seeing you before, on, or after Solstice, December 21, 2020.  If this is when your annual renewal of GNSC membership occurs, click away online and help GNSC maintain great trails.

Girdwood Annual Holiday Bazaar Sat. Dec. 4, 2021

Event starts at noon and goes til 4 PM. Tis the season to be: Jolly, renew your GNSC membership, go out and have a little ski around our beautiful trails, and have some Alaskan winter fun! See you on the trails, GNSC Board .

Solstice Ski Dec 21

Bring your cheer, don some lights, and pocket your thermos and spoon for some savory soup and maybe hot chocolate too!  Park in Parking lot A and ski to the Nordic 5k. Happy Solstice Girdwood!

Join GNSC and community members along the 5K lighted loop Wed Dec 21, 2022 from 6-8pm. Park in parking lot A, bundle up and bring a mug, maybe a spoon, and ski to the Kiosk for the celebration of light! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Bundle up, bike or ski to parking lot A, bring your mug (and maybe a spoon!) and ski up to the kiosk to join in the celebration of LIGHT! This is a favorite annual event for many.
